FLY ~~ HOT SCOOP INDIAN TAB 7 inch ~~ 6000Rs

The company recently launched a tablet in Russia running Android 2.2, with a 7 inch touchscreen.
Fly Mobile is planning to enter the Indian tablet market with a very low end tablet under priced below Rs 6,000, a company spokesperson told 'The Mobile Indian'. If Fly keeps its promise this will be the cheapest Android tablet in the country in November, when it arrives.


The tablets' specs weren't disclosed. However, the company recently launched a 7 inch Android tablet in Russia, which seems to be the one coming to India.


The tablet, called Fly Vision, is a 7 inch tablet running Android 2.2. The processor of the tablet is a 600 MHz Rockchip 2818 chipset, and the device has 256 MB of RAM.


It uses a 4000 mAh battery, which the company claims ensures up to 6 hours of continuous work. The tablet has 4 GB of flash memory which can be expanded up to 16 GB via a microSD card.


What's good is that the tablet can play HD videos, and comes pre-installed with MS Office. Apart from the standard kit of Google applications (Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube), the device is also equipped with other tools.


We know that the tablet supports WiFi. What we don't know is whether it supports 3G as well or not. It does support 2G (GPRS), which also means that there is a SIM slot that can be used for making calls.

Mercury, a player in computer peripherals, has launched its first tablet in India for just Rs 9,499. The tablet, called mTab, is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 1.2 GHz 3-core processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB inbuilt storage with an expandable memory of up to 32 GB.


It is very similar to recently launched Beetel Magiq tablet.


In terms of specification though Mercury tablet beats the Magiq hands down with better processor (1GHz in Magiq Vs 1.2 GHz in mTab), latest Android version (Android 2.2 in Beetel Vs Android 2.3 of mTab), and its capacitive touchscreen in contrast to the resistive in Magiq.


In terms of specification, mTab is even better than the Reliance 3G Tab. However, all will depend on the actual performance.


On the connectivity front, the Mercury mTab has support for both 3G and WiFi network. It will also offer customised 3G packages as a bundled add-on with the tablet for free internet surfing. However, the details will be announced in the first week of September when the tablet will hit the retail stores.


There is a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video conferencing and creating videos. The company claims that the mTab can play videos continuously for four hours and supports all photo and music formats. It measures 19.3cm X 11.7cm X 1.4cm, has a 7 inch WVGA TFT LCD capacitive touch display. The tablet weighs 400 grams.


Mercury mTab comes with a 4000 mAh battery which is better than most other tablets in this segment. It also comes with a

HDMI output for connecting it to a HD TV.


Commenting on the launch, Sushmita Das, country manager, India, Kobian (Mercury's parent company) said, "We are not in the league to announce the cheapest tablet in the country, we believe in providing a strong quality product backed with features and applications that are required by today's user. We promise an experience for all with a high performance display, ease of internet surfing, playing a huge range of games and it's not heavy on your pocket."


The tablet carries 1 year warranty and will be available in stores starting September.

Design:

To be honest, the Photon 4G takes a lot of its design cues from the RAZR V9m. From the dark gunmetal housing around the 4.3” display to the soft touch feel of the battery door the Photon 4G resembles the RAZR a lot. Being one of the most beautiful flip phones ever it is not a bad source of inspiration. The Photon 4G is definitely its own phone though. It is large an unapologetic, but very well constructed and comfortable to use.

There once was a time that a 4.3” display would turn heads, but these days it has become passé. Luckily the Photon 4G’s qHD display will still grab your attention by being brilliantly vivid, bright and crisp. It has an above average viewing angle and we didn’t have much of an issue using it in direct light.


Motorola Photon 4G is very large, but feels well-balanced and natural in the hand. Though angular at first sight, the back of the phone is rounded and that makes it more comfortable to hold. The volume rocker and camera key are both ribbed, which makes them easy to find by touch and feedback is good when you activate the buttons.



Motorola not only upstaged HTC by including a kickstand on the Photon 4G, but they also included a sensor that launches the Widget Clock app, which is similar to a desk clock app. The kickstand is very sturdy, which comes in handy. The microUSB port is unfortunately on the left side of the phone, making it impossible to plug in when the kickstand is being used in the intended manner because it becomes the bottom. The sturdiness of the kickstand allows the phone to be turned the other way however, an unintentional advantage to good construction.

All-in-all Motorola has done a good job with what is essentially another black slab device. It’s hard to really differentiate yourself in an increasingly crowded market, but Motorola is letting the quality of their work stand out with the Photon 4G.

Aircel Qualcomm Huawei 4g 21mbps Downloading Speed Yuppy iN India by telecominfo.in

Aircel, Huawei and Qualcomm have successfully tested a dongle which works on existing 3G, GSM and CDMA networks, apart from the newer LTE (4G) TDD and FDD networks. Other operators are also conducting trials.


Operators are preparing to launch 4G networks, which will bring down the cost and will work at higher speeds.
The reason for the low cost of 4G networks is two-fold:
1.) it will be able to use existing network infrastructure with slight modifications; and
2.) spectrum for 4G network was licensed to operators at a much lower cost (AS WE EXPECTED)compared to 3G network.




LTE can bring speeds of up to 100 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload, while WiMAX, which is currently being used to connect rural Indian villages, delivers 40 Mbps download speeds.

While Reliance bagged spectrum in all 22 circles, Airtel got licences for four circles, Aircel for eight, Tikona in five circles, and Qualcomm (which is in the market to promote LTE) also bagged spectrum in four circles. BSNL and MTNL had got spectrum even before the auction but have so far launched WiMax in very few locations.

The problem right now is that devices supporting LTE TDD (the version of LTE that will be deployed in India), are not available right now. But that problem is soon going to become history. Qualcomm has confirmed that LTE devices will be available in bulk by the end of the year. More than 70 percent handsets worldwide use Qualcomm chipsets.

Hulu to launch subscription video service in Japan by telecominfo.in

Online streaming site Hulu.com plans to launch a subscription video service in Japan this year.

In a blog post Wednesday, Hulu said the new service will provide access to popular television shows and movies on computers, televisions and mobile devices for one monthly price.

The company offered no further details, but said it chose Japan for its first international expansion because Japanese audiences are "passionate about premium video content" and because Japan is a "major producer of world-class TV and feature films."

The company added that Japan is a particularly attractive market for delivering video over the Internet because of its extensive broadband penetration and the ubiquitous presence of Internet-connected mobile devices.

Hulu is owned by The Walt Disney Co., News Corp., Comcast Corp. and Providence Equity Partners.

HP cuts tablet price in bid to challenge iPad by telecominfo.in

US technology giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) on Thursday cut the price of its freshly-launched TouchPad tablet computers in a bid to gain traction in a market dominated by Apple's iPad.

TouchPads with 16 gigabytes of memory were offered on the HP website for $400 and models with 32 gigabytes were available for $500 in what amounted to lopping $100 off the original prices.

TouchPads made their US debut in early July as HP took on iPad and Android devices in the fast-growing tablet market, and are sold by major US retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart as well as on Amazon.com.

Unlike the iPad, the TouchPad supports Adobe's Flash video format. It runs the webOS operating system, developed by Palm, the mobile-device pioneer that HP acquired last year for $1.2 billion.

The TouchPad debuted to mixed reviews, suggesting it will face an uphill climb against the iPad and other devices.

Apple touts having sold 25 million iPads since releasing the first version of the device in April 2010. It released its next-generation iPad 2 in March.

Besides the iPad, the market for tablet computers now includes the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the BlackBerry PlayBook, the Motorola Xoom and dozens of devices running Google's Android operating system.

HP's stock has slumped since the beginning of the year amid investor concerns that the Palo Alto, California-based company is being overtaken by younger, nimbler rivals such as Apple and Dell.
